These
programmes and projects were so long being implemented
by the Department through the West Bengal State Council
of Science and Technology, an autonomous body under
the administrative control of the department. The
State Council is the effective implementing agency
for all programmes and projects since 2004–05
after being thoroughly re-organized and strengthened
with the scientific manpower available with the Department.
The State Council implements all projects and programmes
of the Deptt. and Council in close association and
co-ordination with the leading Scientific Research
Institute, Universities and other Govt. Departments.
